My customer decided it was time to replace her two ageing backyard decks. The new main deck was made a little wider and we also changed up the stair design. We used the same, three board (15 1/2" tread x 6 1/2" rise) stair design on both decks. This design is popular because it allows you the space to easily change your mind when going up or down the stairs. The overall deck height was raised to eliminate that fifth step which brought you into the sunroom. The landscaping and stone guys took care of this issue. The dining room walk-out deck was also made larger. A hinged cover for the propane tanks, to take them out of view was also constructed. The deck structure was built using MicroPro Sienna pressure treated lumber. For
the deck top Trex - Tiki Torch composite lumber was
used. |
